You should know if you are in a risk area from a certain disaster and the time of the highest risk.
You should know where to do if your family need to evacuate.
GET A KIT
The emergency kit is a collection of the important items which can save your life.
In an emergency situation, you may need to survive several days so you should conclude in your emergency kit water and food and other supplies which can last for at least 72 hours.
Make sure that your emergency kit has all items on the list below, there are cheap and local and can save your life. You should conclude your specific needs in the kit as well like medicines.
Basic items in any supplies kit
To assemble your kit, store items in airtight plastic bags and put your entire disaster supplies kit in one or two easy-to-carry containers such as plastic bins or a duffel bag.
A basic emergency supply kit could include the following recommended items:
Water: (You should prepare at least one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation).
Food: (You should have dry food which can last at least for three days).
Radio.
Flashlight.
First aid kit
Extra batteries
Whistle to signal for help.
Tape, plastic sheeting and plastic bags.
Wrench and pliers
Local maps.
Cell phone with extra battery.
You should replace items as needed.
PUT A PLAN
You should have an emergency plan with your family. You should know the types disaster in your area. Your family maybe separated during the disaster so you must how to reconnect with your family members. And make a place which your family can meet in during the disaster that place should be familiar and easy to find.

During preparing you should tailor your plans and supplies to your specific daily living needs like medical equipment.
Make network in your area to help you during the disasters. Network which can take care of your child, assist you by medicine or other supplies during the disaster.
